It is not a pre-requisite to complete CPR before enrolling however, we do recommend candidates hold this certificate before undertaking on the job /in-pool training. To reach accreditation, the AUSTSWIM certificate cannot be issued without a current CPR.

Once you have completed the 2-day AUSTSWIM course with us and have your CPR qualification, we’ll assist you with in-pool hours for your accreditation.

All candidates should wear comfortable clothing for the theory sessions and a drink bottle. For the practical in-water sessions where you will be in the pool, you’ll need to bring suitable swimwear, towel and goggles.

Most importantly, don’t forget your smile and a can-do attitude!

Everyone learns at a different pace and has a varied background with both swimming and working with children.  For this reason, the time it takes to become competent ranges from person to person.

We recommend completing your practical supervised teaching hours as soon as possible following on from the two-day AUSTSWIM course. This assists in retaining information learnt and can see you achieve your hours faster.
