Just Swimming Nunawading operates various levels and lesson availability to suit your families needs.
Just Swimming is committed to providing fun and engaging lessons to all children. With our world class knowledge in stroke technique and water safety, your child will learn from the best. Just Swimming’s vision is: Commitment to Excellence because we are committed to providing and excellent service in everything we do.
Our Levels are Starfish, Turtle, Penguin, Seal and Dolphin. Within each group there are 3 levels. Children move through from Bronze level to Silver Level to Gold level before moving up to the next group. Highly qualified and caring instructors provide a safe and happy environment to enhance the confidence necessary for progression.
Starfish
Starfish levels are designed as age appropriate swimming lessons for children aged 6 months to 3 years. The Focus is on Water familiarisation and Developing confidence.

What to wear:
- Children should wear light weight comfortable clothing with firm fit around the legs to avoid ‘unwanted accidents’ in the water.
- Nappies designed for swimming are appropriate for lessons. Regular nappies should not be worn in the water.
- Toilet trained children should wear bathers.
- Parents should wear t-shirts to provide starfish children with something to hold onto.
Turtle
Turtle levels are designed as age appropriate swimming lessons for Pre-School Aged children 3 years upwards. The Focus is on Floating, Movement through the water, Introduction to freestyle and backstroke arms, water safety and the development of swimming skills. There are three levels in Turtle group.We encourage a ‘happy learning environment’ for this age level, catering for water familiarisation through to a more formalised teaching of freestyle and backstroke.

Penguin
Penguin group is designed to teach children 5 years and upwards correct and efficient swimming technique and additional water safety strategies throughout the three Penguin levels. All swimming classes are conducted by friendly, qualified and experienced instructors and focus on your child’s individual development in sequential progressive stages. The Focus is on Consolidation of Freestyle & Backstroke and Introduction to Breaststroke kick.

Dolphin group is designed to consolidate the four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) and water safety initiatives. Swimmers are prepared for continued involvement in competitive or fitness squads. All swim classes are conducted by friendly, qualified and experienced instructors and focus on your child’s individual development in sequential progressive stages.
